The saga that was the trial of Phil Spector finally came to an end yesterday, as the legendary music producer was found guilty of second degree murder.

The second jury to deliberate on the case, after 2007's mistrial, had the option to convict Spector of involuntary manslaughter, but instead convicted him of the secondary degree murder of actress Lana Clarkson. After thirty hours of deliberation, the jury handed down the verdict that could mean fifteen years in prison for Spector, on top of up to three years for using a firearm to commit a crime.

Clarkson reportedly met Spector at Hollywood's House of Blues the night that she died, and accompanied hom to his Alhambra mansion. Defence attorneys had claimed throughout the trial that Clarkson had taken her own life due to depression over her failing career.

Spector's former girlfriend, Devra Robitaille, who testified against Spector at both trials, has admitted that she's over the moon about the verdict because she's still sickened by the memory of the producer holding a gun at her head.

Spector reportedly showed no emotion on hearing the jury's verdict.
