Singer, songwriter and poet Patti Smith and playwright Sam Shepard are to perform joint readings in The Abbey. An Evening with Patti Smith and Sam Shepard will take place on Easter Monday 9th April, and will comprise of a collection of songs and readings on Ireland's national stage.
Artistic collaborators and long-time friends, Patti Smith and Sam Shepard have collaborated on a number of projects over the past 40 years. This evening of readings and music promises to offer an intimate insight into their work. Patti and Sam will be joined on stage by Tony Shanahan, piano player and Banjo Bill Whelan and Dermy Diamond from the Cobblestone pub in Smithfield, Dublin where Sam has played in the past on his frequent trips to Dublin.
