Well folks, I'm back from Oxegen and fit to collapse. Five hours sleep a night is just not enough, y'all.

Everything about this year's festival seemed pared back from last year. Fewer stages, fewer food stalls, and not a sign of straw to soak up some of the mud caused by downpours on Friday and Saturday. Still there was plenty of great music to be seen, even if it sometimes seemed as if we were the only people actually watching it.

We saw LOADS of bands - some full sets, some just five minutes here and there. Visit our dedicated Summer Festivals section to read about performances from Arcade Fire, Enimem, Jay-Z, Muse, Mumford & Sons, Ellie Goulding, Villagers, Kele Okereke, Yeasayer, Gossip, Two Door Cinema Club, The Black Keys, Diana Vickers and loads, loads more.

I also got time to have a brief chat with the lovely Hutchison boys from Scottish indie outfit Frightened Rabbit and Kelcey and Andy from LA folk rock band Local Natives. More on that later in the week.
