If there's one thing that we Irish love, it's famous people claiming allegiance to us.
Even if it's in jest - like Ayo Edebiri's ongoing 'Irish Princess' joke - we'll embrace it wholeheartedly.
So when someone like Noel Gallagher says he's a supporter of the Irish football team, you'd better believe we'll pounce on it.
Gallagher, of course, comes from a Mancunian Irish family as his parents are from Mayo and Meath - but he joked about his connection to his ancestral homeland in a new interview about his beloved Manchester City FC.
Man City, as you may know, won their fourth successive Premier League title over the weekend and Gallagher was at the Etihad Stadium to witness it.
When asked about player Phil Foden, who scored two goals in their 4-1 victory over West Ham, he said "When you need an early goal, right?, and you get one and itβs one of your own, you know the gods are with you."
The interviewer then asked him about Foden's prospects as he represents England at the Euros this summer, to which he replied: "βIβm not an England fan, Iβm Irish. Good night!" before walking away.

Alright, so he might not have been 100% serious - but we'll take it, nonetheless.
