The singer took to Twitter to explain her reasons
Nicki Minaj announced on Twitter yesterday that she wouldn't be attending this year's Met Gala, for which attendees need to be vaccinated.
Nicki Minaj explained her reasons in a series of tweets, including writing: "I have an infant with no nannies during COVID.
"Not risking his health to be seen."
Elsewhere she wrote: "They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. if I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met. [sic]
"It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now."
She advised her followers to "be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one."
Nicki Minaj went on the defense when others started tweeting her, saying Drake got COVID-19, even having been vaccinated, and said she had the same symptoms as people vaccinated had.
Elsewhere she wrote: "My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent.
"His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding."
She added: "So just pray on it & make sure you're comfortable with ur decision, not bullied."
The singer also noted that she probably will get vaccinated so she can go on tour in the future.
