Red Hot Chili Peppers are set to release the long awaited follow up to their 2006 album 'Stadium Arcadium'.
Speaking to Rock It Out magazine, drummer Chad Smith admitted that the record is scheduled for a release at the end of August.
"It's been going good. We got lots of songs, we're just choosing the ones that are gonna be on the album. It sounds great."
Smith, who is currently touring with solo project Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatballs, said that new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer has had a large influence on the sound of the new material.
"He brought a lot to the table, he's an excellent writer".
The album is still officially untitled, although the band previously announced a working title, 'Dr Johnny Skinz's Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-head'.
