Monsters of Folk, the super-folk collaboration of Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst and and Mike Mogis and My Morning Jacket's Jim James and M. Ward have released the first single from their forthcoming album. The track, entitled Say Please, is available from their official website (www.monstersoffolk.com). Keane frontman Tom Chaplin has confirmed that the band have collaborated on a track with none other than Kanye West. West, who recently was quoted as saying that if the Bible was to be written in the present day he would be in it, joined the East Sussex trio for one night in a studio and the resulting effort will be released before the end of the year.
Unfortunate news came out of Eastern Europe over the weekend when it emerged that a fan was killed and forty others were injured at a music festival in Slovakia when a tent fell on festival-goers during adverse weather conditions. The event, which was to feature performances by Pendulum, Travis and Patti Smith, has now been cancelled.
