Northern English nu-folk band The Unthanks delivered one of the performances of Other Voices Dingle last night. Their 30 minute set was the penultimate concert inside the Church of St. James, and one of our favourites, all in spite of Rachel Unthank suffering from a pretty nasty bout of tonsilitis - what a hero.
The Northumberland group are no strangers to an Irish stage, either. Aside from last night's performance inside the church, they also made the trip to Dublin during the summer months to play support to The Waterboys in the Iveagh Gardens.
You might have already guessed where this is going! And yes, it's good news for Irish Unthanks fans because the fivepiece have already announced plans for a return to Ireland - this time inside the beautiful Pepper Canister Church in Dublin.
It's a lovely bit happenstance that they'll play two Irish gigs in a row - last night's Other Voices included - inside the confines of a church, a most suitable setting for their delicate harmonies.
Tickets for the gig go on sale tomorrow (Wednesday) and will cost you €25.
