'Fo-shiz, fo-shiz, what's up homie?'
As you may have heard, Britney Spears' memoir 'The Woman in Me' was published this week.
It's fair to say that the pop star's ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake doesn't exactly come out well of the whole affair, after Spears revealed how he cheated on her during their relationship. The 'Baby One More Time' singer also revealed that she had an abortion during the relationship when Timberlake insisted they were too young to become parents.
However, potentially even more damaging than any of that was her story about Timberlake meeting r'n'b artist Ginuwine.
The audiobook version of 'The Woman in Me' is narrated by actress Michelle Williams, and this particular story is given extra oomph by her re-telling of it.
Spears says that Timberlake's pop band N' Sync "tried too hard" to fit in with the black artists they hung around with.
"One day J and I were in New York, going to parts of town I had never been to before," Williams narrates. "Walking our way was a guy with a huge blinged-out medallion. He was flanked by two giant security guards.
"J got all excited and said so loud 'oh yeah, fo' shiz fo' shiz, Ginuwine, what's up homie?'"
Spears added how "J wasn't even embarrassed" when her assistant slagged him off for his cringey greeting.
The clip has gone viral, with many complimenting Williams' deadpan delivery; one Tweeter said: "michelle's delivery accurately depicts just how corny and deplorable justin has always been", and another asking "Can we get Morgan Freeman to read it next?"
Timberlake has not yet publicly responded to any of the revelations in Spears' book.
