Michael Jackson's estate have negotiated the biggest recording deal in history with Sony Music to posthumously release 10 album projects over the course of 7 years, including one of previously unreleased material. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the deal could be worth up to $250million, making Jackson the highest earning dead celebrity ever. Sales of Jackson's back catalogue and memorabilia have soared since the singer's death in June 2009, with Sony having sold in the region of 31 million copies of Jackson's albums in the past 9 months meaning that, in death, Jackson will probably be able to pay off some of the massive debts he accrued in the last 10 years of his life.
