MGMT have revealed the cover art for their upcoming new album 'Congratulations', and it's AWESOME! That's it on the left there, like one crazy, trippy cartoon.

The image was designed by artist Anthony Ausgang who recently told boingboing.net that he is inspired by Lowbrow and Pop Surrealism art movements. You'd never have guessed would you? Of the piece itself and of working for MGMT he said, "The most important thing was that MGMT wanted the "look" of my style of painting and gave me only a few points that I had to hit. Naturally the process took some time but they were always cool with the criticisms. A lot of people who commission a painting only know what they don't want; fortunately MGMT knew what they wanted and let me do it my way."

'Congratulations' is due for release on April 9th. Pitchfork.com report that it will feature flutes and at least one 12-minute song, which might explain why Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser have decided not to release singles from this one.

The tracklist is below:
1. It's Working
2. Song for Dan Treacy
3. Someone’s Missing
4. Flash Delirium
5. I Found a Whistle
6. Siberian Breaks
7. Brian Eno
8. Lady Dada's Nightmare
9. Congratulations
