After announcing nominations for most categories at the end of last month, the Meteor Ireland Music Awards have now revealed the nominees for the RTE 2FM Hope For 2009 Award. The nominees are Dublin alternative four piece Autumn Owls, Cork five piece Fred, Dublin based House of Cosy Cushions, Dublin songwriter and vocalist James Vincent McMorrow and Wexford solo artist Wallis Bird.
To create greater awareness of the talented newcomers, RTÉ 2fm presenters Nikki Hayes and Rick O'Shea will feature tracks from each of the five short-listed nominees on their shows on RTÉ 2fm from Monday 23rd February - Friday 27th February between 12pm - 5pm.
The Meteor Ireland Music Awards will take place at the RDS on St Patrick's Day 17th March. They will be presented by Amanda Byram and feature performances from Boyzone, Stereophonics, The Blizzards, Sharon Shannon with Mundy and Imelda May.
