The Bat Out of Hell has just announced his retirement from the stage. Meatloaf, real name Marvin Lee Aday, has confirmed that his current Last at Bat tour will be his last. Why? Well, Meatloaf maintains that he doesn't have the fitness of some of the other musicians his age. We can't imagine why, I mean, he's only named after one of the more fattening dishes you could make.
Speaking to Reuters TV, Meatloaf said: "This is really it. I just don't want to travel anymore. I outweigh Jagger by about 100 pounds and that counts for something. He hasn't seen the wear and tear."
Meatloaf, now aged 65, has had various health problems over the course of the last few years. He was forced to cancel a European tour in 2007 after developing a cyst on his vocal cords and collapsed on stage as recently as 2011.
He hasn't ruled out one-off performances in the future but the days of touring are over.
Will you miss him?
