Damiano David says that he is "really offended"
'Drugs scandal' isn't exactly the sort of thing you'd associate with the wholesome event that is the Eurovision Song Contest.
However, it seems that this year's winners are bringing more than a little rock 'n' roll attitude to proceedings.
After a dramatic result that saw them pip France to the post on Saturday evening, Italian rock band Maneskin won the competition with their song 'Zitti e Buoni'.
It didn't take long, however, for many social media users to accuse lead singer Damiano David of basically sniffing a line of cocaine during the live results segment, after footage of him appearing to bend down to a table emerged.
When a journalist asked him about it at the post-event press conference, he clarified that his fellow band member had broken a glass and he was trying to clear it up - stressing that he does "not use drugs".
The band have since issued a statement once again clarifying that they are against drugs and are willing to be tested "cause we have nothing to hide." According to BBC Breakfast, which the band appeared on this morning, he will be tested this morning.
"I am really offended," he said. "I think this kind of thing is outrageous. We are young guys with a huge passion for the music, and this kind of thing is overshadowing our winning. But we will get drug tested and get the proof that it is all speculation."

In fairness, if you look at the level of the champagne bucket on the table, it's clear that he does not fully bend down to the table - and his 'broken glass' claim checks out.
However, it did add a bit of post-contest rock 'n' roll scandal to proceedings - and that's never a bad thing, right?
