She developed a 'serious bacterial infection' over the weekend
There is concern for Madonna amongst fans after it was revealed late last night that all dates on her forthcoming 'Celebration' tour have been postponed following her hospitalisation.
The pop icon was reportedly admitted to the ICU unit in a hospital over the weekend following a serious infection.
Her manager Guy Oseary confirmed the news with a statement that read:
"On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.
"At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows."
The 64-year-old was due to kick off her 'Celebration' tour - a retrospective of her career - with an extensive North American run in just over two weeks in Vancouver, before bringing it to the UK and Europe in October.
No further information on her condition is available at the moment, but friends and well-wishers have been sending their love and support to the music legend, with everyone from Rita Wilson to Isla Fisher to Zooey Deschanel and Ryan Tedder leaving messages on Oseary's Instagram post.
Her friend Rosie O'Donnell, meanwhile, posted a pic of the pair in happier times with the caption "She's feeling good" and a thumbs-up, emoji.
Get well soon, Madge!
