The early odds are in for the Choice Music Prize for the best Irish album of 2013, with Little Green Cars' Absolute Zero the 2/1 favourites to take home the €10,000 cheque.
My Bloody Valentine's m b v is next on the list at 3/1, while you'll get odds of 9/2Villagers' {Awayland} winning the prize. The oddsmakers seems to the think the smart money will be on one of those three acts but O Emperor's price of 7/1 for Vitreous and the 8/1 price on Bell X1's Chop Chop also seem like worthy wagers.
The 10 album shortlist was announced yesterday afternoon along with the 13-person judging panel, who will be tasked with finding a successor to Delorentos' Little Sparks which won the 2012 prize.
The Choice Music Prize will be decided at an event in Vicar Street on February 27th. Tickets will go on sale this Friday priced at €23.50.
The Paddy Power odds for the Choice Music Prize are as follows:
Little Green Cars - Absolute Zero 2/1
