Rapper Lil Wayne has been released from Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles after a six-day spell in intensive care, following a series of seizures which reportedly left him near death.
Wayne, who has a history of seizures, was admitted to hospital last week after being found unconscious and unresponsive by a bodyguard and initial reports suggested that his condition was grave. Ever-responsible Gossip site TMZ even reported that Wayne was being given the last rites, before yanking it down from the site.
While suggestions that he was near to death may have been off the mark, Wayne did stay in intensive care until Monday evening before being released.
Speculation suggests that the condition was brought on by Wayne drinking a concoction known as 'Sizzurp', a mixture of soft drinks and cough medicine which led to codeine toxification.
Drake and Nicki Minaj were among the visitors to the hospital during Lil Wayne's six-day stay.
