X-Factor winner Leona Lewis has made music history in the U.S. by being the first British woman in over 20 years to top the Billboard Top 200.

She scored a #1 with her album 'Spirit', selling 205,000 copies of it in its first week of release alone.

The last British female solo artist to do so was Sade in 1986 - although technically, she was born in Nigeria.

Lewis's single 'Bleeding Love' has already sold 1.1 million copies in the States.
