Kyteler's Inn of Kilkenny was named Ireland's Best Music Bar in the Licencing World Bar Of The Year Awards 2012. Chosen by a panel of industry experts, Kyteler's Inn emerged victorious from hundreds of entries to claim Ireland's Best Music Bar Award at a gala banquet in the Clyde Court Hotel (formerly the Berkeley Court Hotel, Dublin).
With a history dating back to 1263 Kyteler's Inn located in the heart of the Mediaeval City of Kilkenny was established by the notorious Dame Alice de Kyteler in the 13th. One of the oldest inns in Ireland, Kyteler's Inn is home to some of the biggest names in the music industry with regular performances from Lisa Hanngian, David Kitt, Royseven, Sharon Shannon, the Coronas, Duke Special, Aslan and recently the up and coming Riptide Movement. Another regular to grace the stage is Pat Byrne of “The Voice” fame.
Commenting on the win, Nicky Flynn, owner of Kyteler's Inn said; 'we are just so thrilled to have won the award having been finalists for the last seven years. This is a very competitive category each year, so it really is great to be recognised by our peers for the full programme of music that Kyteler's Inn rolls out on all year round.'
