Gig cancellations happen all the time, but leaving it until the last minute to announce that a band will not be performing is pretty bad form.
Of course, it may have been the case that one of Kasabian was genuinely ill and waiting to see if they were well enough to take the stage in Belfast last night - but with thousands having travelled to the Boucher Road Playing Fields to see the Leicester band on a rainy night, a tweet at 8:48pm - just over 10 mins before their stage time and after support band Blossoms had already played - is not really acceptable.
Many fans were understandably upset at being notified so late:
It is with great regret, due to illness, we cannot perform at Customs House Belfast tonight. Kasabian.

@KasabianHQ grow a set of balls and the band members come out and cancel a gig. You've lost a LOT of Irish fans tonight.

Waiting until 8:50 to tell people is ridiculous. Been stood in the rain for hours.
