With Kanye's 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' heading our way at a rate of knots, the rapper unveiled his new self-directed almost feature length music video at the London Film Festival yesterday.
At the exclusive screening at London's Picadilly, West described the 40-minute film, entitled 'Runaway', as "an overall representation of what I dream". He told the audience, which included stars like Lemar and Marina and the Diamonds, that he was trying to recreate a "modern-day version of 'The Wall' or 'Thriller'." The script for the film was written by Hype Williams.
NME.com reports, "The film is a colour-saturated tale of a phoenix, played by model and actress Selita Ebanks, that falls to earth and becomes the girlfriend of West's character Griffin. In a series of dreamlike sequences that feature ballerinas and banquets she suffers discrimination from those around her and eventually has to burn herself alive."
Kanye's upcoming fifth album 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' is due for release in Ireland on November 19th.
