Mr. JT has not released an album since 2018
Now that the dust has (almost) settled after the various revelations concerning him in his ex-girlfriend’s memoir, it seems like it’s safe for Justin Timberlake to come out from behind the sofa.
Britney Spears’ ‘The Woman in Me’ autobiography did not paint the pop star in a positive light, claiming that he pressured her to get an abortion, ended their relationship by text message and unfairly painted her as the villain after their split with songs like ‘Cry Me a River’.
However, Mr. JT, who has focused on his acting career in recent years, is on the musical comeback trail and has announced a new album.
‘Everything I Thought It Was’ is Timberlake’s first album since 2018’s ‘Man of the Woods’, which is safe to say was not a success.
The Memphis-born singer announced the album with a gig in his hometown on Friday night, sharing a clip of its lead single ‘Selfish’ - and also revealed that he will be the musical guest on next week’s Saturday Night Live.
@justintimberlake ONE NIGHT ONLY
If you’ve been following Timberlake and/or his producer and collaborator Timbaland on TikTok in recent months, you’ll be aware that the pair have been working together in the studio - but now it’s official, with Timberlake’s ‘Reptile’ co-star Benicio Del Toro narrating an announcement for the album.

The release date is TBA, but you can expect to hear more during his SNL appearance next weekend.
