Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme is to produce several tracks by Arctic Monkeys.

The rocker told NME.com that he was due to enter the studio with the band in California next month, to record tracks that could possibly be used as album or single releases.

"I think it's going to work out great," Homme said. "They want to submerge themselves in a place that's the opposite of where they're from and what they're used to.

"I think we're just going to start by doing a couple of tracks. No pressure. The goal is to make something that they dig so much that everyone else can too."
