The Irish twins have adopted republicanism as their latest trendy cause
Their music may have sent many spiralling into a murderous rage in the past, but Jedward have found themselves on the receiving end of some threatening tweets in recent days.
The Irish duo landed themselves in hot water with a tweet following the death of Queen Elizabeth II last week, which many have branded yet another desperate ploy for attention by the pop twins.
After tweeting "King Charles should hand back the six Irish counties on his visit to Northern Ireland - No war! Just words! It’s time," they proceeded to double down on their newfound republicanism with a series of tweets about the monarchy and the Irish famine.
Needless to say, many have accused the duo of being out of their depth and have criticised them for blundering into a sensitive topic - including Coronation Street actor Charlie Lawson:
Oh, shut up !

'Abolish Jedward' was trending on Twitter at one point.
Others have applauded them...
In any case, the writers of songs including 'WOW OH WOW' and 'Oh Hell No' are now claiming that they have received death threats by 'psychos', but vow not to be intimidated.
