The worldwide music press has been falling over themselves to praise James Vincent McMorrow's new single 'Cavalier' since its recent release. The track signposts a change of tack from the mostly guitar/vocals approach of McMorrow's Choice Prize nominated debut towards a more lush R&B sound. Watch the video below.
The video was directed by Aoife McArdle, who has previously helmed offerings from the likes of Jon Hopkins, Beck and Anna Calvi, and was conceived as the first part of a trilogy.
James says of the video: "my hope with the video was that it would add another dimension to the song. I love Aoife’s work, and she heard something in the song that elicited a reaction. That’s what the video is: it’s her reaction the record."
