James Vincent McMorrow, today, has announced details of an upcoming album and tour. 'Post Tropical' will be released on the 10th January in Ireland. McMorrow has also confirmed five homecoming dates in January to coincide with the new album.
Kicking things off in Galway, the musician will play on the January 30th at Seapoint, Galway; January 31st at Cork Opera House; February 1st at University Concert Hall, Limerick; February 2nd -at The Set Theatre, Kilkenny and finally on February the 4th at the National Concert Hall, Dublin. Mark it in your diaries!
Post Tropical is the follow up to McMorrow's debut number one album, 'Early in the Morning', which went platinum and also earned him a Choice Music Prize nomination upon its release in 2010. We have no doubt 'Post Tropical' will have been worth the wait. Recorded on a farm near the Mexican border the new alum has been described as 'a collection of sounds and ideas brought to life in rooms where the low frequencies of passing freight trains vibrated in the studio, briefly disturbing the birds in the rafters. And like most new ideas, ‘Post Tropical’ is hard to describe. It requires attention and engagement. It seduces you towards hidden depths'.
