The Iveagh Gardens gig is the first major gig on Irish soil in over a year
If you were one of the many (many) people who missed out on tickets for James Vincent McMorrow and Sorcha Richardson's gig at the Iveagh Gardens, this news might be some consolation.
It's the first major gig to take place in Ireland in 15 months, and as you probably know, demand for the 500 tickets was sky-high.
They predictably sold out very quickly when they went on sale last week, leaving a lot of people disappointed.
However, it has been revealed that the gig will be livestreamed in full on YouTube tonight from 7pm, for those who missed out on tickets.
We are nearly ready for you! In person and online. @jamesvmcmorrow rehearsing and very excited for tomorrow. See you then. @NCH_Music @DeptCulturelRL pic.twitter.com/XPqeG3INiL

Sure, it won't be the same as experiencing it in the flesh - but it is one step closer to more people returning to live gigs.
As tonight's show is a 'test event', people who attend tonight's gig will be separated into 'pods' of four people separated by two metres, and they must wear masks for the duration - even though it's outdoors. All attendees must also provide contact details in case there's a Covid case detected.
McMorrow said: "Everyone's putting in so much time and effort, because we realise what an opportunity this is to show and remind everyone of what it feels like to be at live music in Ireland again."
Tonight's show kicks off at 7pm, with Sorcha Richardson and band, followed by James Vincent McMorrow at 8pm. The link is here.
