Hard Working Class Heroes is about the best showcase of Irish music we have here in Dublin, with 101 bands playing in six different venues from October 7th to 9th. But that's not all, the festival's organisers yesterday announced some of their fringe events for this year's festival.
The first, HWCH and the City will see a selection of bands play free gigs in venues around the city during the daytime. These acts are:
At Last An Atlas, Autumn Owls, Awake Young Soldiers, Cfit, Conor Mason, Conor Walsh, Deaf Joe, Eleventyfour, Electric Penguins, Futures Apart, Goatboy, The Gorgeous Colours, Grand Pocket Orchestra, Hellfire Cub, Holy Innocents, House of Dolls, Ivan St. John, Jefl & Hyde, Junah, Keith Mullins, Kid Karate, Leaflog, Lost Chord, Miracle Bell, Norabelle, Pearse McGloughlin, Shooting Ducks, Slumberjet, Sweet Jane, The Brad Pitt Light Orchestra, The Capitals, The Crayon Set, The Dead Flags, The Depravations, The Dirty 9s, The Eulogys, The Lost Brothers, The obcd, The Q, Tiny Magnetic Pets, Toy Soldier, Verona Riots, We Should Be Dead, Windings, and Yeh Deadlies.

It's almost as big as the main festival itself. Meanwhile HMCH are also running a number of 'Versus' nights in which two labels, two radio shows and two bloggers to pick their favourite acts from the line up resulting is three great ‘Versus’ nights at HWCH:
