The traditional curtain raiser for summer festival season 2014 opens its doors this weekend. Armed once again with one hell of a line-up, Forbidden Fruit has become one of the centrepieces of Ireland's festival schedule - a bespoke marriage of great music, delicious food and side-splitting comedy.
Whether this is your first Forbidden Fruit experience or you're a seasoned visitor to Kilmainham, you could do a lot worse than throwing your eyes over the below FAQ's...
Where are we going exactly?
This one's easy! Forbidden Fruit will once again take place on the grounds of the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham, around 15-20 minutes or so from Dublin city centre.
There is no on-site parking, so it's recommended that you use public transport to get there. Pedestrian access is by the East Gate on South Circular Road.
Luas - Take Red Line to Hueston Station and it's a 10 minute walk to the East Gate entrance via Military Road.
Bus - Destination James Street and five minute walk to Bow Lane, onto Irwin Street then Military Road. 123 leaves from O'Connell St/Dame St; 51B/78A leaves from Aston Quay.
What time does it start?
The gates will open at 2pm each day and the music will start shortly thereafter.
How many people will be there?
Festival organisers are expecting 10,000 people per day.
There'll be food, right?
And how! Forbidden Fruit prides itself on inviting some of the best food vendors from the country to their festival, so there'll be something for even the most pernickety of tastes.
I have some pretty skimpy festival clobber in my wardrobe. Will the weather gods smile upon us this weekend?
Well, Saturday looks set to be a scorcher so feel free to wear the most ridiculous festival outfit you have at your disposal - but remember that this is Ireland and almost literally anything can happen when it comes to our weather predictions. Sunday looks like it might rain a little though, so keep that in mind when planning your outfit.
The Flaming Lips return to headline Forbidden Fruit for a second time
I'm 17. Can I go?
I'm afraid not, dear youngling! This is an over 18's event and you might even have to prove your age with photo ID on arrival.
So I can't even bring my kids?
Not unless your kid is over 18, no.
Fiiiine. How much are tickets?
€59.50 for a one-dayer or €110 if you want to go on both Saturday and Sunday. And, let's face it, why wouldn't you? Head on over to your nearest Ticketmaster outlet to get your mitts on a ticket. There'll even be a Ticketmaster Box Office on site.
Can I come and go as much as I like each day?
Why would you want to do that, what could possibly be more fun that Forbidden Fruit? And no, once you're in you're in. No re-admittance!
Where is the festival campsite?
Forbidden Fruit is a city festival ya eejit, why'd you bring that tent!?
Who is playing, anyway?
The Flaming Lips, Bell X1, Warpaint, 2manydjs, Warpaint, Wild Beasts, And So I Watch You From Afar and many more. You can peruse the stage times over yonder.
Anything else?
No you can't bring booze in. Yes you should be aware not to make too much noise when leaving (won't someone think of the residents!). OH, AND HAVE FUN!
