Disgraced singer Ian Watkins will appear in Cardiff Crown Court today, where he will receive sentencing related to his conviction for child sex offences.
The 36-year-old pleaded guilty of 13 sexual offences last month was described by the judge as a "determined and committed paedophile". Two female co-defendants, who cannot be named, are linked to Watkins' charges and also pleaded guilty.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission in the UK (IPCC) has launched a formal investigation in the police's handling of the investigation, after it emerged that the authorities were repeatedly warned about Watkins' conduct - with one former associate of Watkins claiming she made several complaints over a four year period - but they were ignored.
The sentencing guidelines decree that Watkins will serve at least 15 years for attempted rape, while further punishments could be added for "the extreme youth" of a victim.
Lostprophets officially split up in October and Watkins' remaining bandmates have insisted they didn't know about their frontman's wrong-doing. They have urged any further victims to make themselves known to the authorities.
