One of the highlights of Electric Picnic 2013, Robert Plant is the latest name to be added to the ever-expanding line-up for next year's Live at the Marquee gig series in Cork. Plant will play on the evening of 25th June next summer, so mark that down in your calendars.

Former Led Zeppelin frontman Plant is one of the most influential rock and roll performers in history, contributing an enormous body of work in the just over ten years he spent alongside Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and John Bonham in the legendary band.

Rock fans have been clamouring for a Led Zep reunion for years and, with the exception of a once off benefit gig in London's The O2 in 2007, Led Zeppelin have been largely defunct since Bonham's death in September 1980.

Plant, alongside his band the Sensational Space Shifters, reworks as a section of the Led Zep back catalogue into his live act with the likes of 'Black Dog', 'What Is and What Will Never Be' and 'Whole Lotta Love' all making appearances during his Electric Picnic set - so this may well be the closest you'll ever get to hearing some of music's most genre-defining songs in a live setting.

Tickets for the show will go on sale on Friday 13th December at 9am.
