Florence and the Machine have topped this year's Mojo Honours List award nominations, coming out just ahead of Kasabian. The two acts will battle it out for the awards for best album, best live act and best song, while Florence also has a shot at the titled of best breakthrough act.
The nominations were announced last night at HMV's flagship store on London's Oxford Street, with performances from The Jim Jones Revue and Hawkwind. Space rockers Hawkwind are to receive the 2010 Mojo Maverick award.
As well as Florence's 'You Got The Love' and Kasabian's 'Fire', Arctic Monkeys' single 'Crying Lightning' and Richard Hawley's 'Open Up Your Door' are up for the best song award. Arctic Monkeys are also up for best live act, while Hawley is also nominated for best album for 'Truelove's Gutter', competing with Joanna Newsom's 'Have One On Me', Paul Weller's 'Wake Up The Nation', Florence's 'Lungs' and Kasabian's 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum'.
Mojo readers can vote for their favourites in each category, and the winners will be announced on June 10th in London.
