One of the most recognisable figures in rock, former Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri has avoided a prison sentence for domestic violence. Oliveri, who was dropped from the QOTSA line up in 2004, was arrested last July for a domestic violence incident involving his ex-girlfriend.
In addition, he was also charged with several felonies for resisting police and possession of cocaine, methamphetamines, and a fully loaded rifle. Despite facing a possible 15 years in prison he received three years of probation instead.
Oliveri will also undergo a year of weekly anger management meetings and serve 200 hours of community service.
