2020 may not be Ireland's year to reclaim glory, after all
This might come as no surprise to many, but it'll still be a massive disappointment.
Rumours abound that Eurovision 2020, which was due to take place in Rotterdam in May, has been cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
An official announcement is expected today, but yesterday organisers released a statement acknowledging that fans were anxious to hear news of this year's contest, and that "every important element needs to be taken into consideration".

Ireland's entry was revealed last month as Lesley Roy's zippy pop tune 'Story of My Life', which was considered by many to be our strongest song in years.
Meanwhile, favourites Iceland - who have already endeared themselves to many with their song 'Think About Things' - may not get to compete with the track. If you got good odds on them winning, you would be understandably be extra-annoyed.
It's worth noting that there is no official word on the cancellation as yet; and according to some, there is a Plan B involving broadcasters that may well come to fruition.
However, other sources note that if it is not held in 2020, all of this year's performers would be invited back - but this year's songs will not be eligible.
