Disappointing news for Ed Sheeran but good news for his fans.
Recent reports had suggested that the singer-songwriter was asked to perform at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding. However, this is not true, according to his record label.
Sheeran’s Irish fans were anxious at the news when it first emerged as this would have clashed with his Phoenix Park dates, which are May 16, Friday May 18 and Saturday May 19, 2018. The royal wedding reception is due to take place at St George’s Hall on May 19th.
A rep for Warner Music said that the reports are "not true", adding that "there is no clash" as "no one has asked them to do the royal wedding", adding that Ed will be on stage in Dublin as planned.
The Shape of You singer will begin his Irish tour in Cork, playing at Pairc Ui Caoimh on May 4th, 5th and 6th, after which he will play Boucher Road Playing Fields, in Belfast on May 9th. He hits Galway's Pearse Stadium on Saturday May 12th and Sunday May 13th before heading on to Dublin.
