The American rock legends play Dublin on Friday
One of rock music’s biggest bands of all time roll into Dublin this week.
Now in their fifth decade, Eagles will play the Aviva Stadium on their 50th anniversary tour on Friday, June 24th - ensuring that the dads of Ireland will finally get to redeem their Christmas/birthday/Father’s Day presents.
If you’re heading along, here’s all the useful info you need to know.
CAN I STILL BUY TICKETS?
Yes, you can - at time of writing, tickets were still available from Ticketmaster, ranging from €59.50 - €206.
WHO'S SUPPORTING?
American country band Little Big Town are providing support in Dublin.
HOW DO I GET TO THE AVIVA?
The Aviva Stadium is in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 and is well-serviced by various public transport options.
The easiest way is via DART, with the nearest stop being Lansdowne.
Various Dublin Bus routes service Ballsbridge, including the 4 and 7 - check DublinBus.ie for more details.
There is no car parking in the vicinity of the stadium as it is a residential area, so drivers are advised to park in the city centre and use public transport.
If you're a walker, it'll take approx. 30-40 minutes to walk to the Aviva from O'Connell Bridge, and it's just over a mile from St. Stephen's Green.
WHERE DO I COLLECT TICKETS?
The Ticketmaster van will be located at the juncture of Northumberland Road and Lansdowne Road and will be open from 4pm.
WHAT'S THE WEATHER GOING TO BE LIKE?
According to Yr.no, Friday evening in Ballsbridge will be a mixture of cloud and sunshine, with temps ranging from 14 - 16c. Showers are forecast for earlier in the afternoon, but fingers crossed they’ll hold off!
WHAT'S THE BAG POLICY?
People without bags will be fast-tracked. if you must bring a bag it needs to be smaller than A4 size. Bags under A4 size will be subject to a search which will result in unnecessary queueing. Bags over A4 size will not be allowed in the stadium.
WHAT ABOUT THE STAGE TIMES?
Do take note of the stage times as The Eagles are on a lot earlier than expected (which means they’ll either play a long setlist or just want to be home in bed early.)
