It's one of the most recognisable murals in the city, and received huge acclaim when it first debuted, however Dublin City Council has now ordered that the Stormzy mural in Smithfield be removed.

Subset, the art collective behind the mural as well as other visually-striking works around the city, have updated the mural slightly with a painter covering over it in grey. They've also placed a protest piece nearby of Donald Trump wearing his trademark cap with the slogan MAKE DUBLIN GREY AGAIN.

Here's both of the pieces, taken from their Instagram.

According to Subset, Dublin City Council say that they didn't request planning permission to paint the mural and have ordered that it be removed by December 15th. There's no word yet on whether the mural will be removed by that date, or if it will remain up.
