The news might seem a little less grim if this soundtracked the opening titles
If the sign of a good song is its ability to be remixed into the theme music from the news, then Dua Lipa's 'Hallucinate' definitely qualifies.
The young English pop star recently released her second album 'Future Nostalgia' to rave reviews, and there are more than a few tracks that could easily become summer anthems.
However, even she couldn't have expected to hear one of them remixed with the BBC News theme music - and the strangest thing is, it really works.
Radio 1 DJ Greg James brought the remix - by Glasgow producer Ben Howell - to Lipa's attention on Twitter yesterday.
Hi @BBCNews, Ben's made you a new theme tune and it's a certified banger. Please change with immediate effect.

The best part is that Dua Lipa has heard it and approves it wholeheartedly, too:
Now the question is: who wants to have a bash at remixing 'Don't Start Now' with the RTE news theme? Anybody?
