The rapper sang the pop hit with the boyband in Toronto

Whether you were a Backstreet Boys fan back in the day or not, there's no denying just how huge a song 'I Want it That Way'.

The boyband's 1999 hit has become their signature song and reached the number one spot in over 25 countries - so it's no surprise that it holds an nostalgic spot in the hearts of many.

However, nobody expected one of the biggest hip-hop stars on the planet to be one of them.

Drake joined the five-piece at their show in his hometown of Toronto when they played the city's Scotiabank Arena on their 'DNA' tour on Saturday night.

The rapper told a story about the song before they sang it together, saying "At 13 years old, I had a bar mitzvah, and at my bar mitzvah, for the first time in my life, this girl I was in love with came up to me while one of the greatest songs in the world was playing, and she asked me if I would dance with her," he said, according to People magazine. "It was the first time I ever felt acknowledged, and it was the first time I ever felt like, you know, I had a shot at being cool."
