Dorothea Taylor is possibly the best drummer you've never heard of
In a different life, Dorothea Taylor might have been a name that many music fans were familiar with, thanks to her insane drumming skills.
Yet while the American grandmother's stint in the spotlight may have come a little later in life than expected, she is relishing the praise that her drumming videos have received.
The Michigan native began drumming at the age of 13, began giving lessons at 17 and has been teaching and playing in various bands as a hobby ever since (she's now 70.)
Her unassuming nature has recently made her a favourite with Tik Tok fans, as she has clocked up a remarkable 20 million+ views on her page since setting it up.
Her videos range between simple tutorials and omelette recipes (yes, really) and her remarkable 'How to play doubles' video has gone viral with over 4 million likes.

She told a local TV station last year - after her drum cover of Disturbed's 'Down with the Sickness' racked up 13 million views - "I think I was born to be a drummer. I had this dream — I always wanted to become this famous drummer. That’s when I was a teenager, so it was kind of in the back of my mind.”
