Director have announced details of the follow up to 2006's platinum-selling debut album, We Thrive On Big Cities. The new album will be called I'll Wait For Sound. It was produced by Brad Wood (Smashing Pumpkins, Placebo, Liz Phair) in L.A. and mixed by Barny Barnicott (Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Kasabian), and will be released on May 8th.
The first single to be taken from it will be "Sing It Without A Tune”, available from May 1st on their own Crapshoot Economics label. A press release boasts that "Sing It Without A Tune offers cogent, driving dancefloor-rock and moves effortlessly between wistfulness and exultation. It boasts a stronger, more integral sound that is certainly a good omen for the forthcoming album!"
To support the new album, the band have announced some initial live dates for the period with a full tour to be announced soon. So far confirmed are:
