David Gray and Paloma Faith are the first two big names confirmed to appear at this summer's Groove Festival in the lovely surroundings of Kilruddery Estate just outside Dublin on the 5th and 6th July.
Paloma Faith will hold court on Saturday the 5th, a couple of months after the release of her third studio album A Perfect Contradiction which will be in record shops from this Friday 7th March. Faith has expanded her creative circle to make this album, working alongside the likes of Pharrell Williams (who hasn't worked with Pharrell lately?), Diane Warren, John Legend and Raphael Saadiq in what should be an interesting and different take on Paloma Faith's output so far.
David Greay, meanwhile, will headline the following evening on July 6th. No stranger to Irish audiences, Gray was last in our neck of the woods for an intimate show at Other Voices last December. Having sold upwards of 12 million albums already, Gray has often spoken of his fondness for this country after fans here really started to get behind his breakthrough record White Ladder. After that, as they say, the rest was history.
Speaking about the 2014 headliners, Groove Festival promoter Roger Duggan said: "We are really thrilled to be welcoming Paloma and David to Groove this year as our headliners. We have a fantastic debut year in 2013 with such positive feedback from people who were there. We can’t wait for July to make it all happen again!"
