Reports this morning suggest that David Bowie has been cremated in New York, where he lived, in a private ceremony.
According to the Daily Mirror, the private ceremony was in line with the music icon's wishes, and it's believed that no family or friends were present and there will be no public funeral service.
His album 'Blackstar' - which many have speculated was named after the common term for a particular type of cancerous lesion - is poised to go to number one in charts across the world this week.
A tribute concert, which was planned before his death, will go ahead on March 31st at New York's Carnegie Hall, with acts such as The Roots, Cyndi Lauper and his producer/collaborator Tony Visconti confirmed to take part.
