Blur's Damon Albarn will take to the airwaves this weekend for his first stint on the other side of the microphone, when he fills in for presenter Dermot O'Leary on his BBC Radio 2 show.
According to a press release from the BBC, Albarn will be "playing music from all over the world" and will be joined by actor Idris Elba, The Clash's Paul Simonon and, rather oddly, a Pentecostal choir.
Albarn won't be the first British musician to lend his voice to the airwaves, as Pulp's Jarvis Cocker has some BBC experience and Noel Gallagher - now Albarn's best mate of course - has also previously temporarily filled O'Leary's seat. Elbow's Guy Garvey has also hosted a BBC radio show.
Meanwhile, Noel Gallagher has recently reiterated his interest in working with former foe Albarn on a track, some two decades after the bitterness of the Blur v Oasis Britpop feud.
Speaking to The Sun, Noel said: "I like Damon and would be interested in working on something", which is news that will surely leave the younger Gallagher brother less than impressed.
