"She's not interesting as an artist"

Courtney Love has a bone to pick - not just with one artist, but with several of them.

The Hole frontwoman is not known for pulling any punches when it comes to critiquing her fellow musicians, and has engaged in countless feuds over the years - including with her late husband's ex-bandmate, Dave Grohl.

Now, it seems that she has a slew of contemporary pop artists in her sights and in a new interview has slammed several of them - including Taylor Swift, whom she had previously spoken about in glowing terms, calling her an "aspirational huge role model for many young women".

However, she told the Standard: "Taylor is not important. She might be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna of now, but she’s not interesting as an artist."

She also took a swipe at Madonna, saying "I don’t like her and she doesn’t like me. I loved 'Desperately Seeking Susan', but for the city of New York as much as her."

Love also had harsh words for Lana Del Rey, despite calling her a "musical genius" last year.  "I haven’t liked Lana since she covered a John Denver song, and I think she should really take seven years off," she said.

As for Beyoncé? It's safe to say that she's not a fan of her new album, 'Cowboy Carter'.  "I like the idea of Beyoncé doing a country record because it’s about Black women going into spaces where previously only white women have been allowed - not that I like it much," she said. "As a concept, I love it. I just don’t like her music."

Ouch.

None of the artists in her firing line have responded - but as you might expect, Swifties have not taken the criticism lightly...
