So far, Radiohead are the only headline act that have been announced for Glastonbury 2017, but could they be joined by a pop star on the Pyramid Stage?

Robbie Williams told reporters at a press conference in London on Monday that he'd be up for it, and with a stadium tour taking in venues across the UK and Ireland next summer, he'd have both the match fitness and the technical set-up required of such a show at his fingertips.

However, he also seemed to rule himself out of the running for this year's festival, at least.

“If they asked me I do it, but I don’t think it’s gonna be next year,” he said. “I would love to do Glastonbury. I would like my moment at the Pyramid Stage in front of a record-breaking amount of people.”

Williams played Glastonbury back in 1998 and was famously spotted hanging around backstage with Oasis in 1995. He made reference to that time in the same press conference, saying “There was a sort of indie fundamentalist mentality that was with us all the way through the ’90s that was very apparent to me, where I was literally looked down on when I was in conversation with a lot of people in various drinking establishments. It was like people were scared that it was going to rub off on them; the Butlin's redcoat or the Pontin's bluecoat thing.

“We live in a very different world than we used to. I don’t think someone who’d left a pop band would feel the same way now. You know, one of One Direction being seen walking around Glastonbury isn’t the same as me walking around Glastonbury in 1995. When I was at Glastonbury it felt like the rest of the festival was like: ‘What the fuck are you doing here, you c**t?’”

In any case, he'll bring his Heavy Entertainment Show to the Aviva Stadium on June 17th.
