Brit Award organizers are calling last night's event an undeniably huge success which is sure to go down in history. Duffy is being named queen of the Brits 2009, taking home three awards for Best Female Solo Artist, Best Breakthrough Act and Mastercard Best British Album. After their massive success at the Grammys and a lead in the nominations, Coldplay's fears that they would be snubbed at the awards have come true, as they left empty-handed.

Chris Martin and Co. made up for their poor performance in a special intimate all-star charity gig with The Killers and Bono at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire after the awards. Martin made his frustration clear during the gig as he admitted "it's been a shit day, frankly." As well as performing The Killer's hit 'All These Things That I've Done' together with Bono the Las Vegas rockers themselves, Martin also invited none other than Gary Barlow on stage to provide guest vocals on a version of Take That's 'Back For Good.' Despite little rehearsal time and several forgotten lyrics, the gig in aid of War Child has been the talk of the town, and may just have outshone the awards themselves.

Other highlights of the award ceremony include Katy Perry vomiting backstage after receiving her Best International Female award. Indeed, a resounding success. You can see a full list of award winners hereĀ and photos here.
