As well as the Ronan O'Snodaigh gig, which we reported on yesterday, there is a host of music events scheduled throughout the course of National Heritage Week - taking place from the 19th to the 23rd of August at Dublin's Christ Church Cathedral. You can book tickets to all the events via the button below.
The excellent 3epkano will join forces with Iarla O'Lionaird to perform a live score of the spine-tingling movie Der Golem, as well as a host of lunchtime recitals, tours and children's activities.
Among these activities will be a photography tuition session from lecturer and photographer Mike O'Toole (including lunch in the Crypt Cafe!). Walks and tours will depart daily throughout the week from 12.30pm, painting a detailed picture of Dublin from the building that has stood in its centre for nearly 1,000 years.
Michael Starrett, CEO of the Heritage Council, said of the events: "the diversity of events taking place during National Heritage Week is what makes it unique. Each year we are seeing a huge increase in the number of individuals and groups getting involved in the week. Seven year ago just 500 events took place for National Heritage Week, this year the week has hit a record high, with over 1,500 events registers. We expected over 600,000 people to attend events across the country, meaning a huge knock-on economic effect for local communities."
