As we recently reported, Coldplay have gone back into the studio with Brian Eno. However, on the advice on the renown producer, they are making their preliminary recordings without lead man Chris Martin.

In a recent session with Absolute Radio, Martin admitted that he had been banned from the studio. He quoted Eno as saying "Viva La Vida was good. But I know you can do better." Martin claims to be happy with the decision for the band to work without him for the first two weeks:
"It has turned out to be a good idea - because the band has been free to try out loads of weird things without me getting in the way."

He is taking the break as an opportunity to work on other things, playing the short solo set on Absolute Radio in which he switched between guitar and piano.
