The hype behind Lana Del Rey has died down considerably following the less than favourable reviews for Del Rey's debut album Born To Die but that hasn't stopped former Girls Aloud and X-Factor judge Cheryl Cole's ears pricking up when she was offered the rights to one of Del Rey's un-recorded songs.
Cole is currently working on her third solo album, a follow-up to 2010's Messy Little Raindrops and reports suggest that she has aligned herself with a star-studded team to ensure that she maximises on her current fame as much as possible. Reports have suggested that Rihanna and Usher, as well as Del Rey, are involved in various capacities.
With regard to the Del Rey song, RTE are reporting a source as saying: "Cheryl is a big fan of Lana and was intrigued to hear she had lots of songs written which she wasn't going to sing herself. She got hold of one and was really taken with it."
